Shark fishing adventure for the Neslon family

Richard, Lori and Zach Nelson, from Sherman IL, wanted sharks and sharks they got!

Despite windy condition, the sharks were thick at my spot.

The first shark to take a bait today was a mighty blacktip!

When Zach got it close to the boat, we saw it was trailing several feet of 400-pound blue filament. I’m pretty sure this guy escaped the long-liners somewhere up the West Coast of Florida before retiring to the beautiful Florida Keys!

Zach went on to land four more sharks – all good size lemons going every bit of five to seven feet.

Richard was getting over back surgery and still used a cane, but that didn’t stop him from reeling in his own big lemon shark. He said he can now cross that off his bucket list!

We wanted to also do some mangrove snapper fishing, but the wind conditions just wouldn’t allow it. Next time, guys.

SeaSquared Charters practices 100% catch-and-release shark fishing using non-harmful circle hooks. All sharks are released unharmed.
