Trout season closes today in South Florida – from Fred Howard Park Causeway just south of the Pinellas-Pasco County line on the Gulf Coast and south of the Flagler-Volusia County line on the east coast.
The season will be closed from Nov. 1 to Dec. 31.
Vermilion snapper season also closes on Nov. 1 on the Atlantic coast. It reopens on April 1.
Proposed trout rules that would create a year-round recreational season won’t take effect until Feb. 1. The FWC will votes on the rules in mid-November.
