Amsterdam Halloween Festival 2012
kicked off yesterday, October 26 with an ocean of costumed people rolling through the city’s streets on skates. The party will go on all over Amsterdam with a myriad of parades, ghost tours and other fun events until October 31, when a fabulous All Hallows Eve dinner will be organized in the honor of guests.
If you thought Halloween in Europe is only summarized at United Kingdom and its great spooky places and traditions, you were certainly wrong. Over the years the creepiest time of the year has become a veritable celebration in many countries throughout the old continent and each of them has proved a lot of creativeness and originality regarding the way locals embrace, adapt and organize Halloween nowadays.
Today, October 27, thrill seekers are expected to take part in a one of kind boat ride on the seductive canals of Amsterdam. Charon’s boat offers an hour and a half journey spiced up with music, drinks, plenty of fun and of course, The Reaper. Evening is reserved for the annual Halloween Run where participants dressed up in zombies scamper the streets performing an enchanting flesh mob at the midway.
Highlight of the day however, consist of the exciting Dead Famous - Amsterdam Spook’s 12th Halloween costume party. Everyone is expected at Odeon Theater dressed up like his favorite Hollywood character. In addition to the exciting atmosphere, there will be plenty of bizarre performances, surprises and an impressive line-up of artists and DJ’s ready to make your experience memorable.
October 28 comes with a full stream of events including movies, make-up, costume party, balloon creations and contests, all of them entirely dedicated to children.
What better way to introduce guests into the genuine atmosphere of Halloween than a frightening movie night? In that regard, the best place to be on October 29, with only two days before the great event is definitely the quirky Nieuwe Anita where runs the weird Killer Klowns From Outer Space.
As already mentioned above, October 31 draws a hell of a dinner at the fascinating G&Ts. Have you ever fancied yourself as an Adams Family member? Well, now you can be one of them.
